The painting depicts the founder of the Kyokushin style, Masutatsu Oyama — a truly legendary and remarkable figure in every sense of the word. Thanks to his extraordinary strength of character, unyielding will to win, refined fighting technique, and boundless devotion to the main purpose of his life, Sensei Oyama rightfully occupies one of the leading places in the pantheon of the world’s greatest martial arts masters.
His right-hand strike possessed incredible power: he could easily break boards, entire stacks of roof tiles, and even crush stones. The halo of flame around his hand in the painting symbolizes this piercing, astonishing power, while the worn black belt serves as a reminder of the years of grueling training he endured with steadfast perseverance.
Later, Oyama taught his techniques to numerous students of this discipline, spreading karate throughout the world, and to this day remains for them a symbol of absolute willpower, steadfastness, and determination.
